My life. Whatever.

I write a blog

April 1st, 2007 · No Comments

I started this blog to escape the community that is Xanga. Well, it’s not the community that I’m escaping — it’s Xanga. I just can’t pay money to people who don’t answer e-mail.

In any case, I had an online friend over there who was a fellow blogger and she would read my posts and ignore the political rants and comment on the posts about life. Sadly, that left her little to comment about, but she still seemed to pay attention.

The problem is that I’m worried that she may have passed away. She’s undergoing the latest bout of treatment for an inoperable brain tumor and, well, she’s disappeared for a few months.

I have some really good friends online and it’s strange to think that someone may have died and while her possible death did not go unnoticed, the noticers have no way of knowing.

Do we really have to have the boundaries that we have with our online friends? Is it valid that we’re afraid that everyone we meet online might be the next Charles Manson? Would it help her daughters to know that their mom had friends online who cared?

Well, I hope that she’s busy fighting and winning, even while I fear the worst.
