Ryan Norbauer has a nice article on 43 Folders on his strategy for avoiding paper filing. This is definitely something I want to try in the next year or so. As a scientist, I’m forced to manage a large number of PDFs, anyway. Almost all scientific papers are available as PDFs now-a-days, so much so that a trip to the library to get a real, physical journal in hand has become a once or twice a year expedition. So if I can manage bills and receipts, etc. in the same framework, then why not?
Anyway, Ryan seems to have some good ideas, although I’ll probably skip the industrial paper cutter as I don’t have his library of Martha Stuart Living editions to sort through. Fortunately.
