I’ve been using DiVX mobile on my cellphone for a while to watch movies when on the road. Yes, I’m a geek and have one of *those* cellphones.

Anyway, when I first started to use DiVX mobile, I said down to try to work out how to encode movies for DiVX using free software. After a while, I decided that I was too old for that stuff and that I had better things to do. In the end, I ponied up the $20 and bought DiVX Pro for the Mac and have been enjoying its drag-n-drop goodness ever since. It’s not the prettiest program in the world, but as a mate to the mobile player, it’s a nice companion.

Anyway, it’s FREE for the holidays now at here. I’m not sure why you have to cough up an e-mail address for the Mac version only, but that’s what Mailinator was made for.
